2023 Highlights: Weddings

2023. My 15th year of photographing weddings. Someday I’ll count how many weddings I’ve photographed…hundreds and hundreds. 2023 marked the beginning of an end and the beginning of a beginning, it being the last year Frank and I offered full-day photography services to our glorious couples. And they were glorious, my couples. All of them. Large with love and kindness and intentionality. The sort of souls with kinds of stories that Frank and I would say ‘Yes! This is why we love our job!‘ We spent time at some of our favorite Indy and Bloomington venues (Newfields, Union Station, Indiana Landmarks, IU Campus, Bottleworks, Industry, Whippoorwill Hill, Abram Farms) with some our favorite vendors (see bottom of blog post).

Wandering Heart isn’t going away entirely. I’ll still do some portrait work (families and couples), and I’ll offer hourly coverage for couples having micro-weddings and elopements. Why did we make this transition? Because our daughters are young only once and life is so wonderful and terribly fleeting!! We need more weekends as a family, more Saturday mornings making waffles, more slow Sundays, more hikes, and family adventures. And I’m finding myself approaching a new decade of living, which is a fitting time to pursue other dreams.
